Dwarf Records - New Releases

After the release of the critically acclaimed EP "Cultured Palate" featuring 4 songs by former Only Ones leader Peter Perrett and his band The One, Dwarf Records is releasing a follow up CD recorded live in London.

This live album consists of most of the songs that ended up on "Sticky" and "Cultured Palate" as well as several songs that Peter first played with The Only Ones, these latter tracks sounding as fresh and vital as they had when he last played them 15 years or more ago. There are in addition some songs not previously available.

This album was recorded one warm spring evening at the Mean Fiddler in Harlseden in '94. The band were at their peak, Peter was writing prolifically and they were constantly gigging (as "The One") rehearsing, recording, doing interviews and generally being very busy. The Dwarf EP was soon to be released and they were to go on to deliver a studio album ("Woke Up Sticky"; Demon 1996). Airplay was forthcoming, the fan base grew to increase today's indie kids. The future looked bright.

Yet it was not to be, within 18 months the band had split up and Peter returned to his South London retreat.

The CD (which sits comfortably alongside Perrett's other work) is available as a CD or as a download direct from the SB Store.

At the moment Dwarf and Peter's plans for the coming year are vague (to say the least).The Cultured Palate EP may be re-released together with some acoustic tracks from the same time.
