I have no desire to claim as mine what the viewer might discover for him or herself in the work. In this sense it is not what (I see) but how (I see) that I consider to be the subject of my painting. The image is simply a vessel.

Born in Folkestone, 1951, Aldous Eveleigh is a painter who lives and works in London. He teaches painting and drawing at Middlesex University. He has designed theatre and opera productions, and held solo exhibitions in Australia and Europe.
